Pond Liner Adhesive: Firestone Bonding Adhesive Method of Application

Surfaces on or against which Firestone Bonding Adhesive is to be applied must be clean, dry, free of foreign materials and excess dusting agent. Clean with broom or rags if necessary before using this pond liner glue.

You must stir the Firestone Bonding Adhesive thoroughly before and during use, achieving a uniform mix with no sediment on the bottom and no marbling evident. Apply this pond liner adhesive with a solvent resistant paint roller. To allow approximately the same flash off time, be sure to roll the underside of the EPDM pond liner and the substrate to which it will be adhered one right after the other. Apply the pond liner adhesive evenly to avoid globs and puddles of adhesive. You can also spray-apply the pond liner glue if you follow it by rolling to ensure 100% coverage. Care must be taken not to apply Bonding Adhesive over any area that is to be later cleaned and spliced to another sheet or flashing.

Allow the Firestone Bonding Adhesive to flash off completely according to the touch-push test (usually less than 15 minutes, flash off time will vary depending on ambient air conditions).

Starting at the fold, roll the previously coated portion of the EPDM pond liner into the coated substrate slowly and evenly so as to minimize wrinkles. To ensure proper contact, compress the bonded half of the EPDM pond liner to the substrate with a stiff broom using heavy pressure.

Pond Liner Adhesive: Firestone Bonding Adhesive Coverage Rate

Depending on the substrate, approximately 45-60 square feet per gallon may be obtained from this pond liner glue. Some surfaces are more uneven and porous and will result in lower cover rate while smooth, while non-porous surfaces may result in higher coverage rates. Rates are based on roller application to both mating surfaces. When sprayed and back-rolled, the coverage rate may be slightly higher than when rolled only.
